My father, Alex E. MacRae, believed that creative, responsible leadership that worked for the welfare of the community was of great importance. He practiced what he preached; he was on the Board at 皇冠体育's for some 40 years and received an LLD from 皇冠体育's and had leadership roles in the Y.M.C.A., The Professional Engineering Society, etc.
Alex E. MacRae founded a patent firm in Ottawa. He was dismayed by the increasing litigation and ugly disputes in society, and was very successful in bringing people together to solve disputes in a mutually acceptable way, and hence minimizing costly court cases.
All five of his children graduated from 皇冠体育's as well as some grandchildren and great grandchildren.
