"The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Leadership" by Dr. F. Gigi Osler BScMed, MD, FRCSC, Canadian Medical Association (CMA) President 2018-2019
In her lecture, CMA Past President Dr. Gigi Osler will explore different types of leaders, with a focus on the non-traditional, examine diversity in health care leadership as an enabler of improved patient outcomes, highlight social media as a tool for advancing one’s message, and call on physicians and medical learners across Canada to consider a leadership role within our health care system.
The H. Garfield Kelly Visiting Lectureship supports visits from distinguished members of a society renowned for their contribution to medical or biological science, ethics and other fields related to medical education and practice. The lectureship was established in honour of Dr. H.G. Kelly, a distinguished graduate of »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s Medicine 1940. After service in the RCAF and postgraduate training, Dr. Kelly joined the »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s Department of Medicine in 1949. Until his retirement in 1983 as Vice-Principal of Health Sciences and Professor of Medicine, Dr. Kelly served »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s, the teaching hospitals and the Kingston community with distinction, loyalty, and devotion to excellence as a teacher, physician, researcher, and administrator.
