According to the patent (attached) a chemical spectrum, such as that obtained by mass spectrometry, may be presented to a user as an audible signal or as a tactile (haptic) signal. Randyβs primary appointment is in the School of Computing, and he is also appointed as a Professor in the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Surgery.
