Humanities and social sciences research in Canada have received a more than $240 million boost from the federal government. Announced as part of a last week totaling $1.3 billion, the Honourable M茅lanie Joly, Minister of Industry, detailed the four programs through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) that would be administering the funds. Close to 50 researchers at 皇冠体育鈥檚 have secured $11.5 million across the four programs.
This fall, the Department of Psychology is launching 皇冠体育鈥檚 Well100, a brand-new course designed to help students feel their best and make the most of their university experience.
Hannah Burrows, ArtSci鈥23, Msc鈥25, Zaid Kasim, Sci鈥21, PhD鈥26, and Ore Maxwell, HealthSci鈥26, are this year鈥檚 recipients of the Agnes Benidickson Tricolour Award, which is given annually by the Office of the Rector to students for 鈥渧alued and distinguished service, leadership, character, and community impact.鈥
Faculty of Arts and Science researcher Kate Harkness has earned the 2024 Douglas Utting Prize, awarded annually in Canada to someone with excellence in research or academic pursuits furthering the understanding or treatment of depression or suicide.
