Seven »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s community members will receive Staff Recognition Awards on Dec. 7 at the Principal’s Holiday Reception.
The awards recognize staff members who consistently provide outstanding contributions to the learning and working environment at »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s at a level significantly beyond what is usually expected.
The 2016 Staff Recognition Award recipients are: Sandra McFadden and Angela Street,, Office of the University Registrar (Student Awards); Sandra Murray, Centre for Teaching & Learning; Ben Seewald, Advancement - Alumni Relations; Deborah Smith, Office of the University Registrar (Exams Office); and Melinda Knox and Kelly Blair-Matuk, Office of the Vice-Principal (Research) Team.
The Principal’s Holiday Reception is being held 11:30 am-1 pm at the Athletics and Recreation Centre. The principal will present the awards starting at 12:30 pm. Donations of non-perishable food items are being accepted in support of the AMS Food Bank. For each donated item you will be entered into a draw to win a handcrafted gingerbread house courtesy of »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s Hospitality Services Sodexo.
The Staff Recognition Awards are handed out as the university celebrates the contributions of all employees.
Getting the day off to a good start, »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s employees can pick up a free medium hot beverage at all Sodexo outlets.
Staff Appreciation Day will feature a number of events and activities including tours of the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts, the Miller Museum of Geology, the »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s Observatory, the Phytotron at the Biosciences Complex, as well as the world-class Clinical Simulation Centre at the »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý's School of Medicine.
Other events on offer include an indoor cycle class, a positive psychology workshop and a yoga class for managing stress.
