Flags on campus are lowered in memory of Frances Laverty, the wife of former »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s University chaplain Padre A. Marshall Laverty. Mrs. Laverty was 103 years old.

Mrs. Laverty graciously welcomed small groups of students into her home when Padre Laverty served as »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s first chaplain from 1947-1983. She hosted many luncheons, special events and Sunday suppers during that time period.

Mrs. Laverty’s funeral will take place Dec. 30 at Robert J. Reid & Sons Funeral Home (309 Johnson St., Kingston). Visitation is 1:30-3 pm with services in the chapel at 3 pm.
