Multimedia Producer for the Office of the Rector

THE RECTOR

The »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s University Rector is a student, elected by all students for a three-year term. The Rector tradition was passed to »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý's from the University of Edinburgh, with the first Rector taking office in 1913 and the first student Rector taking office in 1969. The Rector of »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý's is the third officer of the University, after the Chancellor and Principal.

The central role of the Rector is to act as an advocate and a facilitator of dialogue regarding students’ needs, opinions, and views with the university’s senior administration.  The Office of the Rector is an important resource for the »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s student community in helping them understand the university’s administrative structure and how to obtain student-specific resources and services. 

THE ROLE

 Â·        Film and edit short-form videos for social media.

·        Capture photos during campus events and community engagements.

·        Support growth of social media followers and engagement by co-creating content plans, practicing social listening, tracking analytics, and identifying effectiveness in collaboration with the Communications and Engagement Officer.  

Start date: September 2, 2025

Time commitment: Average of 5-7 hours per week

Compensation: $17.20 per hour + 4% benefits

Eligibility: actively enrolled undergraduate or graduate students at »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s University in good academic standing and eligible through the »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý's Work Study Program.

 

WHAT YOU BRING 

·        Passion for supporting »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s University students and unwavering dedication to upholding the principles of Indigenization, equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and accessibility.

·        Respect for the sensitive and confidential nature of the Office of the Rector.

·        No severe Category 2 violations under the Student Code of Conduct, or any violations under the Policy on Sexual Violence Involving »Ê¹ÚÌåÓý’s University Students or the Harassment and Discrimination Prevention and Response Policy.

·        Proficient in photography, videography, video and photo editing software, and Microsoft Suite applications.

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·        Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

·        Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for key events.

·        Experience editing web pages is an asset.
